Adopt Me eggs

Eggs still hatching and the ones long since retired. 41 in the catalogue, 3 moving right now.

Trading eggs in Adopt Me

An egg is a chance rather than a pet, which is what makes eggs worth trading at all. Eggs still in the game can be bought with Bucks, so they move for roughly what they cost. Retired eggs are the interesting ones: nobody can obtain another, and whatever is inside is the only way left to get those pets.

That is why a retired egg and a current one are not remotely the same trade even when they look alike in a list. If you are hatching for a specific pet, check what is still in rotation first — the odds printed in game are per egg, not per attempt, and they do not improve with practice.
